The Night Market Spine
Hang Dao is the spine of the Old Quarter, the street every route crosses. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights it closes to traffic and becomes the walking spine of the night market, three kilometres of stalls running north to Dong Xuan. By day this cluster is about silk history, fine fabrics and the sweet shops of Hang Duong, where families buy preserved fruit and traditional sweets for Tet.
